Tis' The Season of Babies!!!

Just in the past 6 weeks I've attended three baby showers.  And as if these occasions aren't special enough, these were for longtime friends of mine!  I've been friends with two of these fabulous mamas-to-be for nearly 20 years and twelve years with my other sweet friend.  A testament that true friendships can stand the test of time, distance and life experience.  These are the types of friendships I wish for my children. I believe it is magical when childhood friends evolve into lifelong friends...magical and very, very rare.

Baby B. just couldn't wait for her shower!  She decided to make an early appearance!
 With her Aunt!
Rubbing off some pink dust!  Her mom is doing GREAT and I got caught up in girl gab that I didn't get any decent photos with the two of them.  I also would like to add that I actually met Alicia, from aliciashomemaking!!!
Shower #2!  Such fun!!!  And yes, I wore the same shirt ;)
Shower #3!  More grown up time for me, too.  Very, VERY exciting!
Baby boys will meet soon enough!!!

Montessori Self Help Video of Kyan {Try New Adventures Thursdays}

Lets face it.  I am outnumbered.  And most days are totally manageable, but some I have a very challenging time getting everyone put together to get out the door.  Lately, Kyan (2 yo) has been requesting "I do it by MYSELF!" when getting dressed, so I decided to ride with it and searched some Montessori self help ideas for the kiddos.  Below is a video of him putting on his jacket (and yes, that IS a skeleton on the counter!  haha  Dad is teaching them anatomy).  I wordlessly demonstrated how to put on my own jacket while he watched and then told him it was his turn.  This is his VERY first attempt and he was sooo proud of himself!  I plan to continue teaching these self help techniques, and hopefully within the next few weeks all the children will be able to dress themselves and load into the van without assistance.  :o)

Sunday Supper Meal Plan {4.17.11}-Using Stockpile ONLY!

How was YOUR weekend?  I hope it was wonderful!

Ours was super fun!  Friday night I decided last minute to run in the local 5K Race on Saturday morning.  I wasn't sure how I would handle TWO races within SIX days, but I did great!   I beat my Iron Girl time by 52 seconds and also did not walk!  I had a positive 72 year old man setting the pace ahead of me...he was such a rock star and kept me motivated.  Come on Marissa.  If he can do it, you can do it.  Afterwards I attended a good friends baby shower and then had a yummy dinner and evening walk with the entire family since my husband was off!  This morning 3 out of the 4 kids woke with runny noses, so Church was out.  I made an early am grocery run, got my coupons, dinner in crock pot, caught up on laundry, cut the boys hair and then we headed to Great Explorations {we have free admission the entire month because of our Aquarium Membership!}  before dad had to go in to work!

The Laser Harp was soooo cool!
Kyan is such a tank!
"This would be the coolest job EVER!  Even cooler than the postman!"
Smart kiddo. He figured it out while...
 his brother ae the balls.

Sunday Supper Meal Plan-Using Stockpile ONLY

I've been going through my pantry stock the past few days and with Summer on the horizon, I would like to make room for future sales and yummy food!  Not to mention, my stockpile is maxed out!  I am one very proud coupon shopper :)  Therefore, this weeks recipes will consist of only what is in my pantry and freezer.  Except, of course, fresh veggies, fruits and a gallon and half of milk {We've cut down from 3 gallons a week to 1.5!  Aren't you proud!?}  Looking at my supply, I might actually make this a goal for May along with a total grocery budget of $200.  We shall how ambitious and creative I feel in a few weeks.

Breakfast-  Cold Cereals, smoothies,  leftovers
Lunch-  Turkey Sandwiches, salads and leftovers
Dinner-

Sunday:  Beef stew (beef, carrots, onions) cooked in crockpot over rice
Monday:  Tuna Melt with grilled corn
Tuesday:  Spaghetti with meat sauce and salad
Wednesday:  5 Year Wedding Anniversary!!!  DATE NIGHT and possibly rock climbing!  Woohoo!!!
Thursday:  Chicken Stir Fry over rice
Friday:  Stuffed Shells (adding meat sauce, too) and fruit and salad
Saturday:  Turkey Roast and veggies
Sunday:  Easter Dinner at our house.  My Mom is planning the meal!!  :)
